The Ashgabat Cinema (Turkmen: Aşgabat kinoteatry) is a movie theater located on Magtymguly Avenue near Kopetdag Stadium in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. It opened on June 29, 2011, and is recognized as the first 3D cinema in the country, initiated by the President of Turkmenistan. A tender for constructing the Central Bank of Turkmenistan was announced in January 2008, and by September, the Turkish construction company "Ichkale" was tasked with building a modern cinema in the city's center. The project cost over $20 million and later transitioned to the French construction company Vinci. The cinema was inaugurated on June 29, 2011, with the attendance of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
