About

Atatürk Square is a park in central Ashgabat named after Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic. Located approximately 500 meters east of Independence Square, it is bordered by Gorogly Street to the north, H. Babayev Street to the west, and Chary Nurymow Street to the south. A statue of Atatürk stands at the center of the square. Each year, on the anniversary of his death, a commemoration ceremony is held, attended by officials from the Turkish Embassy and Turkmen ministries, where participants observe a moment of silence and lay flowers at the monument.
